About

Jazz pianist and audience favorite Shamie Royston returns with an all-star ensemble to Tavern on the Lake in Hightstown on Friday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. For the past several years, she has performed in Hightstown to a standing-room-only crowd. For this performance, she will be joined by four terrific musicians—bassist Yasushi Nakumura, trumpeter Josh Evans, saxophonist Jaleel Shaw, and drummer E.J. Strickland.

The event is hosted by REJS Entertainment.

Shamie Royston is a beloved pianist, composer and educator and has played at many of the top jazz venues and festivals in Europe and the U.S. Her “fiery, soulful piano playing” is featured on her debut CD, “Portraits.” Since moving from Denver to New Jersey, she has been a steady performer with the Tia Fuller Quartet (her sister is Tia Fuller) and has played with many other great artists such as Christian McBride, Lonnie Plaxico, Ron Miles, Ralph Peterson, John Pattuci, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Sean Jones....

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
